Christmas Gift Ideas for Women
If you are looking for a surprise gift this Christmas for a special lady in your life, to start with, congratulations! You are in the minority of men that aren’t told exactly what to get for Christmas and birthdays, and I’m sure she loves you for it
Secondly, you may need some help! Whether you are looking for a gift for a wife, girlfriend, sister, mother, relation or friend this festive season, we steer you in the direction of some of the most stylish and sweet pieces around.
Every lady is a gem herself … and while it may be true that diamonds are a girl’s best friend, that is usually when they are coming from a prospective husband! If you are looking for a wonderful Christmas gift, but not a new wife (!) this Christmas, a good way to broaden your search is using her birthstone. Check out the birthstone jewelry page on the site. It is likely that she has a few pieces with her birthstone already, so you’ll be able to give something that matches. Even if this will be the beginning of her birthstone collection, it is a much more reliable way to pick jewelry than covering your eyes and waving your finger at the screen! The page gives you the birthstones for every month, and we have picked out one of the gorgeous March pieces for the beginning of the article. Aquamarines are sweet, subtle and budget-friendly stones, and the yellow gold base that you see on the pendant at the beginning is a great way to highlight their subtle sky-blue depths. The aquamarine is a 1.15 carat stone, around 6mm x 8mm, and is set on 9ct yellow gold. It is a stand-alone item, so if she has a favorite chain, it can just slip on, or you can pick the chain that will best suit her from the range.
June-born women are pearls in the deep, just like their birthstone. Pearls come in all different colors, not just the one we know as ‘pearl’. The Pandora range has some wonderful unusually colored pearls in it, like the ones in these red pearl, rhodolite garnet and diamond earrings. The red pearls are teardrop shaped, for further individuality, and the whole kit and caboodle is set on 14ct yellow gold, suitable for all skin types. They are around 28mm in length – good for either day or evening wear.
For May misses, the birthstone is the emerald. This stone can be easily found in synthetic form – but you don’t want a cheap imitation for Christmas. These natural emerald earrings have the authenticity, without the exorbitant price tags of other larger emerald jewelry. They are set on luxurious 18ct white gold, and have a combined gemstone weight of .6 ct. They are sweet, simple and perfect for everyday wear.
And of you are looking for a Christmas gift for a girl born in November, you might have used up all your best inspiration a couple of weeks ago – don’t fear, birthstone jewelry is here! Topazes are November’s stone, in all of their many colors. Try something like the set of Pandora blue topaz flower earrings and ring pictured at right. The topaz in the ring is set on 14 ct yellow gold, with a moveable wreath below the flower for those fiddly chicks! As well as the matching earrings, also 14 ct gold that are shown below, you can get a matching charm for Pandora bracelets, and a slightly different style of wire-petalled earrings that are very similar. The ring is sleek and sweet, and is suitable as a children’s very special gift as well as for more mature women.
And for October girls, opals are their best friend – the opal drop pendant pictured features ten Australian boulder doublets set in sterling silver, with cubic zirconias for sparkle and highlight. It is a stunning 80mm long, perfect for evening wear, and as it is a stand-alone item, you can choose whichever chain you think will suit it, or her, best.
You could also go for something like the opal earrings pictured below the pendant – hopefully the horseshoe design brings you luck in her appreciation of the gift (we’re sure it will!), and the white-family of opals, like these, are the most sought after of the gorgeous fiery, magical stones. The opals are set on 14ct white gold, and you can see the gorgeous heart filigree pattern in the sides of the earrings – these are great for sweet, feminine ladies.
Of course, no matter what those birthstone lists say, some girls just aren’t into gems. If you have a girl like this to buy for, jewelry still offers a very, very wide selection, in every type from pendants to bracelets to earrings. For an easier search, go to the Christmas Gift Ideas for Women section, select the Gemstone tab in the product finder and check the ‘Without Diamonds or Gemstones’ box. You’ll find products like the handmade two tone silver and gold bracelet pictured, simple enough for everyday wear but beautiful quality, and equally special in the evening. It is made of yellow and white gold, and the design is reversible, creating a slightly different look depending on how it falls.
And for far-out and fabulous women, give the silver mesh necklace pictured a go. It is made of a unique chain mesh of sterling silver, and is a stunning evening piece. It is 60cm long, and can even be wrapped twice around some delicate necks for a different look!
Hopefully you have found some inspiration for your Christmas gift search, even if the perfect present hasn’t popped up yet – keep browsing in the Christmas Gift Ideas for Women section if you need something utterly unique. For help at any time, just click the Live Help link at the right f every screen in the shop, and we’ll be right with you!

I love the aquamarine birthstone pendant! Its unique style and soft dainty color looks just lovely! Too bad i wasn’t born on the month of March …

I agree Liz! Aquamarines are one of my favorites too, and very wallet friendly. But no need to ‘only’ wear birthstone jewelry – you can do what you wanna do, and be what you want to be … yeah!!!
