January Birthday Gift Ideas for your Wife
In some ways, your wife can be the hardest person to buy birthday gifts for … and in other ways she can be the easiest! You see, there is always a balance
It is easy buying birthday gifts for her because you know her so well (hopefully!) … you know her preferences on color, shape, and the types of jewelry she likes to wear. What makes it difficult to buy jewelry for her is that there is so much more at stake than when you buy for someone else. You could be in the doghouse for weeks … or in bacon and eggs in bed every weekend for a month, if you get it right! Best to take a bit of advice, then…
If your wife’s birthday is in January, her birthstone is garnet. Rose quartz is the alternative stone – you could probably pick from whichever color you think would suit her better (or she would prefer!). Garnets are a beautiful deep red color – they have hidden depths of color that can make you stare at them for minutes at a time … forgetting you are getting in people’s way at the mall (!). Rose quartz is a delicate cloudy pink color, however it is more difficult to find rose quartz jewelry.
The next part is where your expertise comes in … does your wife wear necklaces or pendants, or does she just find they get in the way? Does she work with her hands – because if she does, a ring or a bracelet may not be a suitable present. Does she change her earrings daily, or only for special occasions? So many options – but choice is definitely a good thing!
If your wife is the type that likes to put in a pair of earrings and leave them in, then huggie earrings are a great option. They are inconspicuous enough that she can happily leave them in for work, and they won’t get in the way, and are unlikely to mismatch an outfit. These heart garnet white gold huggie earrings are a lovely option – the heart shape makes them a little more personal and special for her, as well. Big on the warm fuzzy factor!
If your wife is born in January she will be either a Capricorn or an Aquarian. Capricorns are born from the first to the twentieth of January (and into December as well, of course…), while January Aquarians are born on or after the 21st of the month. Of course, the following categorizations aren’t hard and fast, but star sign characteristics can be a great starting point for your jewelry search.
Capricorns are traditionally meant to be responsible, conventional, hard working and prudent. They aren’t likely to appreciate anything too strange or new … go for the old favorites to impress a Capricorn. If you are buying for your wife, it doesn’t get any more traditional than a heart locket … you can even pop a photo of yourself in there (never hurts to remind her who she is married to!). There are several available, and this Me to You locket pendant is a great option.
Because Capricorns like things to be quite traditional, it can seem hard to get a gift that will stand out. So, if it isn’t a wise idea to go for something new or unusual, then go instead for something whose quality is the absolute stand out feature. This two tone gold bracelet is created with the utmost care and the best materials available – and will be as long lasting as your marriage.
On the other hand, Aquarians are unconventional, free-thinking, and like to stand out from the crowd. They are also quite spiritual. This beautiful, and very different double sided black butterfly pendant would be a great choice for many Aquarians – it is definitely something that is not often seen, and it also represents the spirit of the Aquarian personality – flying free and unfettered by society’s constraints. Peace, love and mung beans – in beautiful jewelry!
If you browse the jewelry gift ideas for wives section, using the filter to only show products without gemstones or diamonds (under the gemstone tab), you will actually find several of these striking butterfly pendants, in colors ranging from iridescent blue, to wonderfully elegant blacks and purples, to rich and earthy tortoiseshell tones. These tortoiseshell tones will also match especially well with any other garnet jewelry she has … there could be a future present idea!
Good luck … we hope we have kept you in weekend bacon and eggs for the next couple of weeks, at least!
