Gorgeous aquamarine ring

Aquamarines are the birthstone for March, and they certainly make some knockout jewelry! Aquamarines are the blue variety of beryl, and have an amazingly clear, pale but stunning appearance. They are a relatively common stone, so you’ll be able to get quite a sizeable chunk of birthstone in your loved one’s birthday jewelry, at quite low prices. The graceful, gem studded ring at right has a completely different feel to the chunky one at the beginning, but they are united by the same gorgeous aquamarine colour and an 18ct white gold base. You can see how little the aquamarines add to the price of the ring – this one has 0.20 ct of gemstones, and is priced quite close to the 7mm x 9mm stone ring at the start of the article. This ring can actually be resized quite easily due to the solid part at the back and the way the aquamarines are set into the face of it. All that means is that it can be a complete surprise (no furtive finger measurements!), and it can be resized locally when it arrives – usually a fairly quick process.

The Pandora ring at right, with an aquamarine and diamond set on yellow gold base, is one of our newer products. While aquamarines are normally paired with white gold or sterling silver for that steamy, washed out ’stormy sky and clouds’ look, you can see how well they also work with yellow gold! This ring has a 14ct yellow gold base, and the diamond accenting the main aquamarine stone is a 0.01ct brilliant cut white gem. The whole ring seems to look skyward, with the gold of the sun, the blue of summer’s sky and the North Star of the diamond, arcing above it all. Beautiful!

Pandora has a wonderful sense for the elegant, as you can see in the above ring, but they also have multiple personalities! The pendant measures around 21cm in length, and you can see the stones are exactly the same size as the earring attachments – making for an unusual look with chunky earrings, and a very dainty pendant. Pandora’s 14ct yellow gold pieces certainly contrast with the sterling silver ones price-wise … but they do have a sleekness and richness that is difficult to match elsewhere. There are some beautiful light and deep blue colored Murano glass charms that would work beautifully with this one on a bracelet; don’t think that having one gold bead on a bracelet means that the whole thing needs to be gold.

Most aquamarine jewelry, though, is much more budget friendly than the luxurious Pandora yellow gold pieces. The dainty heart aquamarine earrings at right are very well sized – the heart cut stones measure 5mm across – but they are especially well priced. If you have a petite, sweet, no-fuss sort of girl to buy for this March, these would be ideal. They are also great for children and teenagers – they won’t have to take them out to go to school, they will be able to enjoy them every day! The gemstones are set in 9ct white gold, which is nickel-free and suitable for all skin types.

And for our final recommendation, we couldn’t go past the beautiful round brilliant cut aquamarine pendant at right. The attachment style is very simple, but the cut of the gemstone is amazing, with its beautiful star pattern in the background. The gemstone measures 6mm across, and weighs 0.78ct in gem terms. It is set on 9ct white gold, but is a stand-alone item, so if she doesn’t already have a suitable chain, you’ll need to pop over and find one that will fit the pendant.
