New Emporio Armani Mens watch

There are so many fences that have been torn down, towers that have collapsed and old standards that have been challenged in recent decades … and (to me, at least!) it seems that with every old idea that we question the logic of, everybody is a little freer and a little happier. One of those old ideas that is very definitely breaking down is the idea that guys shouldn’t be interested in looking good. Along with the expansion of the male grooming routine out of the bounds of the deodorant can, men’s jewellery is growing immensely in popularity. Women are realising the difference a little accenting and embellishment can make to their ‘other halves’ appearances as well … and jewellery manufacturer’s are certainly responding! Today we check out some of the most modern and inventive designs in men’s jewellery, chosen specifically for October birthday boys.

Adam and Eve pendants by Inori

New Zoppini Modus- rose plated ball pen

Rochet piston style steel and black ceramic pendant

October is split into two parts – guys born up until the 23rd are Librans (with the modern, though not universally liked, signature colour of pink!). Men born on or after the 24th are Scorpios; their signature colour is black, and there are few men’s jewellery brands that use black in such a classic yet fascinating fashion as Armani watches. The watch at the beginning of the article is one of the new season’s additions to the Armani collection, and while it has all the classic Armani elements – the stylish leather band, roman numerals for the face and black/stainless steel base materials, it also incorporates a glimpse into the workings of the watch with a mechanical face. In addition to it’s intimate glimpse into the inner life of a watch, you get a 2  year manufacturer’s warranty and 50m water resistant design with this classic timepiece.

The ruling planet for Scorpio men is Mars … and the devilish little male symbol in the Inori jewellery pendant at right just happens to also be Mars’ motif! The Adam and Eve pendants by Inori have been quite popular since they first arrived in store; they make for a fabulous excuse to get yourself a little gift along with your man’s! Both are pure polished stainless steel; the female pendant measures around 2.7 cm, the male one around 3.5cm. No chains are included, but Inori has quite a sizeable range of very affordable chains for their pendants, all made in tough, hard-wearing stainless steel.

For Libra guys, they may miss out on jewellery designed with their signature colour (pink!), but with a ‘ruling’ metal of copper, the door opens to the range of very elegant and quite individual rose gold men’s jewellery items; copper is alloyed with yellow gold to achieve the rich, radiant rosy colour. If you have a traditional sort of guy to buy for this October, who isn’t really into wearing jewellery, these Zoppini jewellery brand pens incorporate all the advantages of jewellery as a birthday gift (personal, long-lasting and sentimental) with a more classically male item. As far as pens go, they’re a definite luxury item, but as far as jewellery goes they’re a bargain!

The pendant at right is perfect for mechanically minded blokes – a straightforward yet stylish and masculine piece of men’s jewellery. It’s designed by Rochet jewellery to echo the shape of an engine’s piston, and uses the same tough materials – ceramic and stainless steel – that you’d find in a real piston! It’s quite compact in size at 2.6cm; definitely not a ‘bling’ accessory, but very contemporary (and hot!) nonetheless.  For Scorpio guys, their signature colour is a strong, deep black, and Rochet matches this perfectly with Scorpio’s ruling metal of stainless steel.

Nowadays, even if you have a guy who just won’t tell you what he wants for his birthday, there’s no excuse for resorting to socks and boxers! Keep browsing the ever-growing range of men’s jewellery – choose a men’s watch for the more traditional men who needs to be eased into the idea of guys being just as gorgeously groomed as the girls. If you want a second opinion on a piece, our shop staff behind the Live Help window are usually available, just sing out!
