The theme of Pandora is especially relevant at Christmas time … what with all that box opening! Luckily the jewelry range is enormous, and has something to satisfy everyone, both on the gift giving and gift receiving ends of the equation. Today we are checking out the newcomers to the Pandora range as Christmas gifts, and examining some of the highlights of different categories in depth.

Liquid is Pandora’s newest range – ’she’ is now delving into the sleek, highly polished world of all sterling silver jewelry. Each piece in the range has either a bubble, liquid flow or wave motif design, and you can get earrings, rings and pendants as the jewelry styles. This quad bubble ring is a gorgeous one, with matte bubbles against a glossy ring surface. Like the Lovepods rings we’re just about to talk about, the Liquid rings are designed to be stacked with others of the same design – you could use this quad bubble with the single bubble or double bubble rings in the range.

Lovepods launched earlier this year, only a couple of months ago, and is a very high end style of personalizable rings. The way you personalize them is by stacking them – but given the price tags and the pressure on an already thin Christmas wallet, you may want to start with just one! The three-pod ring with peridot, citrine and pink topaz at right is quite cost effective compared to the single pod rings, but much more decadent and luxurious (it is mostly the 14ct gold that bumps up the price). There are pink topaz, citrine and peridot pendants (with one gemstone each!) to be found in the Lovepods pendant section, and you could pop these on a matching color leather necklace, rather than sticking with the automatically supplied black one for a personalized look. Alternatively, Pandora recently created their own line of chains (leather necklaces used to be the norm), which the Lovepods pendants look extremely elegant on.

Mix n matchearrings are another fairly recent offering from the Pandora range – these earrings sets actually have quite a few benefits! If your (or your loved one’s) ears become irritated taking earrings in and out all the time, but you’re well and truly sick of only wearing sleepers and studs, the mix n match range lets you leave in the hooks for bed, without the danger of pulling on the earrings. The pendants are also cheaper to buy than entire earring sets, and you can make all the weird, wonderful, classical and elegant combinations you like. The watermelon pearl earrings are a new part of the collection of mix n match dangles, made of 14ct gold with a ripe, juicy watermelon pearl at the top!

Ordinarily there isn’t much point buying Christmas-themed jewelry for Christmas. You want your loved one to wear it throughout the rest of the year, after all, and snowmen and mistletoe looks a bit odd in autumn! This Gift Angel inspirations bracelet is a beautiful exception though – not overtly Christmas themed, the silver charms look great alone or will blend in to whatever she decides to place alongside them. In October 2009 there was also a new bracelet charms collection released, with part if it the sterling silver charm at right promoting breast cancer awareness. The flowers are made in a way that will be familiar to anyone that has looked at a diagram of how breast feeding works … subtle, but very relevant and sweet! This is quite an inexpensive way to give a gorgeous Christmas gift. The ballet slippers with pink cubic zirconia was part of the new charm release also – sweet, girlish and magical, and very well-priced!

Pandora’s anklet collection has been around for a while now, but if you’re enjoying a Southern hemisphere Christmas, it is the perfect time to encourage your gift-ees to show off their pins! The leather anklets are natural and very hardy, and the silver flower charm puts it halfway between the realms of elegance and earthiness. It is tied around the ankle lariat style- no need to go around asking ankle measurements!

The Liquidsilver chain below the anklet is a recent addition to Pandora’s halls – in fact, the chains in general haven’t been in the collection very long. There are chains specifically for Lovepods and for the Liquid range of pendants, and others that suit general pendant charms. There are currently no chains that are suitable for charm collections – you’ll need to buy the sterling silver, gold or leather ones specifically made for that.
