Pandora Raindrop Safety Chain for Capricorns

The Pandora range really gives two gifts – there is the physical presence of the bracelet and charms, and the gift of choice! This is great for both the giver and recipient – but just like many gifts, it can also be a curse :-) How do you decide the best charm for your female friend or family member? Her startsign can be a great clue – and if she is born within the December 22-Janauary 20 period, we have some awesome suggestions, tailored specifically to Capricorns for Christmas.

Capricorn girls are prudent and responsible souls … they always turn up to work on time, fill out paperwork meticulously, and work to a schedule. You often find methodical Capricorns have worked out one best way to perform tasks, and will do them this way for their entire lives :-) They are self-reliant souls, and also cautious and conventional. So you’ll be looking for simple, sleek and restrained styles in her charms … but one must have item for Capricorns is really the safety chain! Caution and prudence, remember! You can imagine how terrible it would be if a hard jolt ripped the clasp out, and scattered her hard-collected charms everywhere … and your very cautious Capricorn can as well! Safety chains come in several different designs – we chose the raindrop one at the beginning of the article for Capricorns because of its dark seriousness, with a large area of oxidized sterling silver. This oxidation is well-matched in the Pandora range of complementary jewelry – which Capricorns will love.

Having charms and a bracelet that matches will also be important to her, though, so if she has a mainly gold bracelet you’ll want to go for one of the lengths of gold safety chain pictured at right. It costs no extra for a 6cm safety chain over a 5cm safety chain, and the flower design is really quite subtle – it just gives the clips of the chain a little texture. As with most Pandora gold products, this is a 14ct piece – delightful quality.

For the rest of her bracelet, go for charms that have a nice regular shape and pattern. There are plenty of infinity design charms (and again, there are plenty of matching infinity design pieces among the earrings and pendants!). This smokey quartz one can be found in the gemstone section – the smokey quartz has a serious, subtle coloration, however its richness is really set off well by the gold bases the stones are set in. Sterling silver might drown out the chocolatey-sweetness of the smokey quartz, but gold gives it some lovely subtle highlights. In the charms section, you can see this same design with paraiba topazes, also in the gemstone section, and if you click on the paraiba topaz charm you will see a great selection of the complementary infinity style jewelry down the bottom. One of these pieces is the infinity smokey quartz necklace pictured – perhaps a good birthday present for Capricorns, who are born awkwardly close to Christmas!

The oxidized sterling silver that many Pandora pieces have as a base is not only a great stylistic choice for Capricorns, it is very budget friendly … important to prudent, responsible zodiac-goat girls! You can incorporate this classical style metal in a regular design, but without being boring (!), in a charm like the ladybeetle shown at right. It is pleasingly symmetrical, yet adds a little life and zest to a Pandora bracelet. You could also go for somehting like the four-leaf clover charm, for a little Irish luck as well as a nice regularity! The balls and rings charm pictured underneath the four leaf clover has many style-sisters in the Pandora range. The nondescript symbols make it a lovely base to build on with other more detailed charms, or a great way to bring balance to a Pandora piece.

And if you are looking to incorporate some Capricorn-style color into a Pandora bracelet for a friend or loved one, check out both the enamel section and the Murano glass section. There are some truly beautiful pieces – and these colored beads really set the personality for the entire bracelet, determining what outfits it will match, and what occasions it is best worn at. You can check out the new page, Inspirations for Pandora Bracelets, to see what ready-made bracelets incorporating different types of colored beads look like, and get a better feel for what your Capricorn friend will like. But whatever color scheme you choose, look for evenness in her charms, like in the yellow flower petal enamel bead pictured at right. This is set on sterling silver, and for Southern hemisphere Capricorns, the bright happy highlights bring the flavor of a Capricorn’s birth season, summer, into play in their bracelet.

The Murano Glass section has some much more exotic choices, and really allows her to make color graduations and transitions within her bracelet. Some of the designs have fairly monochromatic patterning, like in the diagonal swirls green bead pictured at right. Some of the ribbon designs are made in a single color also, like the ribbon design blue bead. However, many more come in two or more colors. This allows Capricorns to create colored patterns in their bracelets – the order and regularity this creates will be so important to them. The aqua blue and yellow flower bead pictured is a great example of a color crossover charm – it will go with blue, green, yellow, and white colored charms. Very flexible!

Hopefully you’ve found some inspiration for a Christmas gift for your conscientious, cautious and conventional Capricorn! If not, just keep browsing in either the silver bead section, the Murano glass section, the http://gilletts.com.au/index.php?cPath=549_573 or the safety chains section to see alternatives to the charms we’ve talked about here. If you need any more pointers, would like to ask a question about the beads you see on site, click on the Live Help link to the right of screen and we’ll be there to decode what you see!
