Gillett's Jewellers also custom-makes engagement rings, wedding rings, titanium rings, and dress rings and offers a range of superior-quality diamonds, including D, E, and F-colour certified loose diamonds.

A large proportion of Gillett's Jewellers customers are international customers from the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada, and thousands of jewellery items are delivered by express courier to customers worldwide each year. History: Gillett's Jewellers was started in 1974 by Don Gillett, our current owner, a jeweller. The store was originally called Diamond Trends and was located at 138 Albert St., Brisbane, Australia. During our first 12 years (until 1985), Don primarily manufactured jewellery for other retail jewellers.

In 1985, Don opened a retail store at City Plaza called the Engagement Ring Centre, in Adelaide Street, Brisbane, Australia.

We remained in the City Plaza until 1991, when we moved to a store on the Ground Floor in the heart of Brisbane's shopping district, Broadway on the Mall, Queen Street, Brisbane.

In late 2006, we moved to the first-floor superstore in the same shopping complex, Broadway on the Mall. In early 2013, we moved to Newmarket with an appointment-only showroom.

Since 2017, Gilletts Jewellers has transitioned to an online-only model and continues to serve all our wonderful past customers and future clients. Gilletts made this decision to operate exclusively online in order to lower costs for consumers while still providing the experience and customer service from its earlier years of operation.

Don Gillett, our owner jeweller, started his jewelry apprenticeship in 1967, at the age of 15. He graduated in 1971 with a Certificate of Merit and at which time he was awarded Apprentice of the Year in our state, Queensland. He was also awarded the top apprentice for each year of his four year apprenticeship.

Don graduated with a Diploma in Gemology in November 1979. He was Chairman and co-founder of the Queensland Valuation Council in 1986 and is a former Chairman of the Queensland Jewellers Manufacturers' Association. Don is also a member of the Jewellers Association of Australia.

Rosemary Gillett

Behind every great jeweller is a great partner, and for Don, that was Rosemary Gillett. Rosemary played an integral role in shaping the heart and soul of Gillett's Jewellers over many decades. With tireless dedication to the store's presentation and atmosphere, Rosemary was the creative force behind the stunning displays that left customers marvelling at some of the most breathtaking jewellery they had ever seen. Her keen eye for beauty and detail ensured that every piece was shown at its very best, turning browsing into an experience in itself.

Beyond the displays, Rosemary generously gave her time, assisting customers and staff alike, always ensuring that every person who walked through the doors felt valued and cared for. Her warmth, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to excellence helped forge the trusted reputation that Gillett's Jewellers holds with customers to this day. Her legacy lives on through her son, Craig Gillett, who continues to carry the family business forward with the same dedication and pride that Rosemary so beautifully embodied.

In 2017, Don stepped back from full-time work at Gilletts to focus on his retirement goals. His son and daughter-in-law now run Gilletts Jewellers. With 15 years of experience at Gilletts Jewellers, the family business continues, driven by our mission to provide the lowest prices and the best possible customer service and satisfaction. Although we can't compete with large brands, we offer personal service and guaranteed lowest prices in Australia.
