Ring Resizing Policy Outline
Our Guarantee
We strive to resize and remake your ring wherever we can, and we guarantee that the size you order is the size we deliver. However, we do not replace rings for free if an incorrect size was ordered — in this situation we work closely with you to find the best outcome, whether that is a resize, a remake, or a replacement.
Custom-made rings cannot be resized at all. Engraved rings cannot be resold, so in both cases we remake the ring for a fee, which includes repurposing the original materials and remaking the piece to the correct size.

This policy outlines the rules and procedures regarding ring resizing and the implications of ordering a ring in the incorrect finger size. Please read carefully to understand your rights and responsibilities.
2. Incorrect Finger Size
- Customer Responsibility: If an incorrect finger size is supplied in your order, the resize guarantee will not be applicable, and a refund will not be available.
3. Resizing Options
- Suggestions for Resizing: We will provide guidance on possible resizing options.
- Manufacture of a New Ring: At Gillett's discretion, we may agree to manufacture a new ring or resize the original ring (if possible) for a fee.
4. Custom Made Rings
- No Resizing or Exchanges: Custom-made rings, including rings designed through special orders or quotes, cannot be resized and are not eligible for exchanges or refunds due to incorrect sizing.
5. Notification Period
- Timeframe for Notification: Customers must notify Gillett's within 30 days of the delivery date if resizing or remaking of a ring is required.
- Return Instructions: Upon notification, instructions for returning the ring will be provided.
6. Fees for Resizing/Remaking
- Applicable Fees: A resize fee or a remake fee will be applied if the incorrect size was ordered.
- For most wedding rings, the remake fee will typically be 25–50% of the original price.
- Additional charges may apply for larger sizes due to extra metal requirements.
7. Engravings
- Resizing with Engravings: Resizing may be possible if the ring can accommodate the required new size.
- Engraved Rings Cannot Be Resold: Once a ring is engraved we cannot exchange or resell it. Instead, we remake the ring for a fee, which includes repurposing the original materials.
8. Ring Condition for Returns
- Return Condition Requirement: If a new ring needs to be manufactured, the original ring must be returned in its original, undamaged, unworn, and unused condition.
9. Shipping Responsibilities
- Cost of Return Shipping: Customers must prepay and are responsible for the shipping costs associated with returning the product.
- Customs Duties: Gillett's will not cover any shipping costs or customs duties/taxes for product exchanges. Following the return instructions will help minimise these costs.
10. Refunds and New Orders
- Policy on Refunds: A refund cannot be issued under the guarantee if a new ring in the correct size is ordered. A resize/remake fee will apply in such cases.
